Took a quick trip to the beach with friends. Matilda LOVED staying in the waves the entire time. Mabel had fun playing in the sand. Grabbed lunch on the way home with four tired, cranky babes. Ha! We still had fun though!

Breckenridge for Papaw's Birthday
In July we celebrated Jason's dad's birthday with a trip to Breckenridge. I had never spent time in that part of Colorado. The closest I had been was our trip to Lyons/ Estes Park in 2015. The trip to Colorado went smoothly. We rode the plane with Jared and Wesly, and they helped entertain the girls.
On the drive up to Breckenridge, we stopped at Cooper's on the Creek in Georgetown for lunch. It was such a yummy meal with such a great view!
Once we arrived at our cabin, Matilda was excited (for about a split second) that there was still snow on the ground. They had just had a late blizzard, so there was plenty still left.
The cabin met our needs, but we were disappointed with the overall maintenance of it. Plus, the afternoon sun was killer through the windows.
But it did have a great deck and view, and everyone enjoyed the hot tub (especially the girls)!
The next morning we had breakfast in Breckenridge and walked the main streets (although most shops were closed that early).
That afternoon we drove to Frisco and did the Sapphire Point Overlook Trail. It was a pretty easy trail with good views! Lots of ground squirrels to watch too.
We stopped at a brewery on the way back.
The next morning, Jason, Jared, and Wesley hiked the grueling McCullough Gulch trail. Jared cursed Jason's name afterward.
Meanwhile, I convinced Jason's mom to join the girl's and I on a search for an illusive troll. We found the trail, but sadly the troll was still under construction and covered by a tarp. It was still a nice little adventure though.
Later we went back into town and visited a few shops. We found a few parks for the girls to enjoy.
The next morning we went on a hike at the Sawmill Reservoir. We also went swimming at Breckenridge's recreation center, which was pretty fun.
On our last day, we went on a horse ride with the girls. It was a bit too long and Mabel was over it before the end. Matilda did pretty good on her own horse. It was a bit jumpy, and she was very brave.
On our way back into Denver, we visited a dinosaur museum and the Red Rock Amphitheater (although we weren't able to go all the way inside).
We stayed in a really nice Airbnb RV for our last night and visited a food hall for dinner. The girls enjoyed huge cones of ice-cream. A solid way to end a wonderful trip!

Easter & Art Car Parade
Easter celebrations were tons of fun this year! As always, we had an Easter egg hunt with our neighborhood...
And then one at church...
Don't you love the girl's matching outfits this year? My mom picked up the shirts at a fair and then sewed matching skirts. Actual Easter day was pretty low key... we went swimming at Jared's apartment.
We were so happy to be able to make it to the Art Car Parade this year. The past few years we haven't been able to attend because it fell on the same day as the girl's birthday parties. We were also excited because it moved back to it's original location (not downtown) which allowed better viewing spots.
No joke, but Jason took over 200 pictures of the cars. I'm sorry I'm only posting a few.
Half way through the parade, we had a huge storm cloud pass over. We were troopers and stuck it out.
Despite getting drenched, we had a great time!!
