Matilda's been looking forward to her birthday party for months now. We scheduled it a bit early (3 weeks) since Mabel is due on her actual birthday. I gave her the choice between a Daniel Tiger or ballerina theme, and she chose Daniel Tiger, but knowing how much she likes pink, I made it a pink Daniel Tiger theme. (Here's pics from her 1st and 2nd birthday celebrations.)
She also had asked for a chocolate cake with pink frosting and cupcakes, so she got both of those as well.
Her cousins came over before the party, so she got some prime playtime in with them before the guests arrived.
Jason and I got her a playset and sandbox for her birthday, and Jason worked hard the week before to get it set up in time for the party. He also built a balance beam and a chalk board, all which were great fun for the guests.
We catered Chick-fil-a for lunch. Jason made a homemade pasta salad, and I made the cake and cupcakes. Matilda said her favorite part of the party was the cupcakes (big surprise).
After cake, the kids played a quick game of pin the tail on the donkey.
Then Matilda opened her presents.
Which of course required an outfit change halfway through once she opened her fairy outfit from my parents.
She had a great time, and I think everyone else did too!
