Mabel's Fifteen Months Old

Stats:
At Matilda's 15 month checkup, she weighed 20 pounds 11 ounces (43%) and was 30.75" tall (58%).  Poor girl got very sick from her TDAP vaccination this past week.  Ran over a 104 degree temperature, threw up, and was very clingy.

She is up to 6 teeth and still wears 18 month clothes.

Sleep: She is sleeping through the night from about 6:30 pm to about 8 am (after I head to work a lot of times, which kinda stinks because I don't see her in the morning).  Bedtime routine now consists of reading a few books (which she's been getting more and more interest in lately) and then setting her in her crib.  She usually puts herself from there.

Shortly after her first birthday, she dropped her second nap, and now usually just naps for 2-3 hours from 11-2ish.

Eat: Mabel weaned herself when she was about 13.5 months old, a bit abruptly.  She had an ear infection and had gone on nursing strikes before when she didn't feel good, so I wasn't sure if she was truly done nursing.  I was still producing 10 ounces a day, so I kept pumping.  She quit drinking from a bottle too.  Once I realized she was truly weaned, I had to wean from pumping.  Now I have a 300+ ounce stash of frozen breastmilk which she won't drink.

She's pretty good at eating solids.  She eats 3 meals a day and a few snacks.  She's pretty good at eating meat, fruit, and carbs, but is getting more picky around vegetables.

She mostly drinks water, plus a few ounces of whole milk a day (probably not enough).

Play/ Milestones: Mabel started walking a few weeks ago, pretty much around the same time Matilda started walking as a baby.  She was pretty cautious the first week or so, but is gaining more confidence everyday. She can also get up and down from the couch by herself, and loves rough housing with Jason and Matilda.

Mabel's been pretty interested in her toys lately.  She loves her buckle toy and can do all the buckles pretty quickly.  She loves playing with Russian stacking dolls.  She can put toothpicks through the holes on the top of a spice container.  She likes playing with stacking pegs too.  Most recently, she's starting coloring/ scribbling on paper.

Mabel loves swimming and playing in the water... it doesn't matter if it's a big swimming pool, a kiddo pool in the backyard, the bathtub, or the beach.  She's pretty fearless.  She loves splashing around (which drives Matilda crazy since Matilda hates getting her face wet).

She still loves dancing.  Matilda started soccer practice this summer, and Mabel has shown some interest in kicking and throwing balls around.

She's got quite the sense of humor too... she loves wacking you and making a sounds that sound like she's saying "got you!"  She also loves seeing and playing with dogs.  She hates being told "no".  She takes it to heart and just crumbles into a big crying pile of sadness.

But overall, she is generally a happy, loving toddler!
