Stats: At her 18 month appointment, Mabel weighed 20 pounds 15 ounces (27%) and was 31.75 inches tall (49%). I think she must have had a skinny day because she weighed 21 pounds 9 ounces (43%) a month ago.
She just got two more teeth in the last couple of weeks, bringing the total count up to 8.
Mabel had a rough few weeks a few weeks ago. She and Jason ran into each other, and the doctor thought she may have fractured her leg so she had to wear a splint for a week. That same week, she was also diagnosed with hand foot and mouth. It was pretty miserable and sad for all of us.
Sleep: No big changes, except she now wakes up a bit earlier (6:30-7 am instead of 8 am). I think she wakes up earlier now that Matilda is back in school. She wants to spend time with us before we head to work and school.
Eat: She has definitely become a much more picky eater. She does pretty good a breakfast. In fact, most days she eats two breakfasts - first cereal or oatmeal with Matilda and then egg and breakfast meat with us.
For the other meals, if there are any type of noodles on her plate, she will only eat them and ask for more (pushing away the meat and veggies). She really doesn't like many vegetables at all right now.
For snacks, she likes yogurt smoothies, fruit, apple sauces, dry cereal, frozen yogurt, and popsicles (which she'll cry for at the freezer).
She does pretty good drinking whole milk and water.
Play/ Milestones: Mabel is a bit behind on her speech (she only says Mama, Dada, dog, cat, and up), but she is pretty good at her gross motor skills. She's been practicing jumping (I think she actually got both feet of the ground recently), walks backwards and twirls around, likes climbing, throwing and kicking balls, LOVES DANCING, and is starting to run.
She's got such a sweet personality, but is really funny too. A common phrase around here is, "Mabel, you are so silly." She and Matilda have really enjoyed starting to play with each other.
Since Matilda is in school full-time, it's freed up time for Jason and Mabel to get out and about. They do story time at the library, music class at church, one morning of forest school each week, and she's been going to the nursery at church too.
