I Played Hookie From Work This Afternoon & It Was Delightful

We have a policy at work that you can carry over up to five vacation days from the previous year, but you have to use them by March 31st.  I had been planning on spending spring break home with Jason, but work unfortunately isn't going to allow for it.  Basically, work is just nutso right now, and I've starting worrying I'll be in the position that come March 31st, I hadn't used my carry over days.  So, as I sat at lunch with my co-workers today, I made up my mind that I would play hookie this afternoon.  Resolutely, I decided I wasn't even going to go back up to my office.  After we ate, I would head directly to the parking garage and leave.  So I did.  And, as far as I know, work survived without me.

It was a gorgeous day outside, so I headed to Buchanan's in The Heights to pick out a new plant to replace some of the flowers that didn't survive the freeze.  Then, I went to Chic Warehouse to test chairs to replace the bug infested one that we threw out last weekend.  I got an Icee on my way home.  I planted the new flowers, swept the pollen, vacuumed the floors, played with the dog, and overall had a very enjoyable afternoon.

Hmm... now I'm off to find something yummy for dinner and perhaps renting a movie to watch.  Gotta love playing hookie.  :)

I thought that we may have lost this plant this winter, but it is coming back beautifully!
