Two weeks late! If you missed our Holidays post, check it out here.
Stats: No big changes here. Still probably under 20 pounds and wearing 18 month clothes.
She got three more molars the night before we headed to visit family for Thanksgiving break, so she's up to 12 teeth now (maybe more if we just haven't seen them yet). She went to the dentist awhile back and did great!
Sleep: Goes to bed around 7 pm, mostly sleeps through the night (if she wakes, we usually won't go in there unless she's really upset), and then wakes up anywhere between 5-6:30 am.
She's officially down to one nap. Usually goes down around 11:30 am and sleeps anywhere from an hour to 2.5 hours.
She still sleeps in her old Zipadee-Zip. We bought her a new one, but she won't wear it. Her old one grosses people out, but she loves it. She often asks to wear it around the house and in the car. It makes her happy. She also sleeps cuddling her little baby doll.
Eat: Pretty much the same. She's a grazer and often asks for food throughout the day. She's still loving her yogurt smoothies, but has cut back a lot on eggs which used to be one of her staples.
Most mornings she immediately asks to eat as soon as she gets up. She'll start with a bowl of cereal and then eat whatever we eat for breakfast later. She does a pretty good job feeding herself cereal now and will even finish the milk from the bowl afterwards.
I think she's starting to eat meat more, although still not much. She loves Chef Boyardee mini raviolis, but we doubt that's even real meat. She had venison for the first time and surprisingly liked it.
I think Jason's stopped letting her eat blueberries while grocery shopping, because she'll often eat the entire container by the time they check out.
Play/ Milestones: The biggest development over the past three months has continued to be her language development. She picks up words right and left. She's also learning names (like KayKay, Nonna, Papaw, Papa, Unki Jared & Jordan, and Luke), which is fun. She's also very polite and says please and thank you and recently starting saying bless you for sneezes too.
She's enjoyed riding her bike the past few months, both the YBike she got last year and riding with Jason on his bike.
Toy wise, she likes stacking her blocks and playing her animal matching game my parents got her for Christmas. She's pretty good at it! She's really gotten into animals lately. Dogs and owls are probably her favorite right now.
Every once and awhile she'll get to create art. You can tell from the following pictures why we don't do art often. I see a future tattoo artist on our hands. She really likes stickers too.
Speaking of tattoos, she's gotten into accessorizing lately. She likes jewelry, hats, bags, etc.
She still loves music. She'll bring her tambourine to play if Jason plays the guitar. She also likes for us to take the cushions off the couch so she can dance on them.
She still loves reading too. She's actually gotten to the point where she'll open books and "read" them herself. She'll "read" pages of Hop on Pop and Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You. She's gotten into some of her longer non-board books lately like Madeline, The Little Engine that Could, Corduroy, Rosie Revere Engineer, etc.
We've really been itching to go camping lately, but it's been too cold at night for us to brave it. So, we've tried to make it up by going to the park the past few weekends. We spent an afternoon at Hermann Park a few weekends ago (pictured above), and then spent some time at the Barbara Fish Daniel Nature Play Area along Buffalo Bayou (pictured below) one weekend too.
Hip Dysplasia/ Leg Update: She went to the doctor in December, and unfortunately her hips showed no progress. The orthopedic surgeon noted that her physical assessment was great; from rotating her legs and watching her walk, he could never tell she has hip dysplasia. But, her X-rays didn't show any progress. Her socket is still too shallow and her left femoral head still hasn't ossified. She'll continue wearing her brace at night, probably until she's about three, and we'll continue to have X-rays and checkups every six months. Keep us in your thoughts; we really don't want to have to face future surgeries.

The zippadee-zip is definitely disgusting.
