New Car on the Block

It's October 1st... what does that mean in Family H?  Apparently, it means we bought a car yesterday.  Or at least that's what it's meant for the past two years.

I can't even list all of the issues with Jason's 2002 Honda Civic EX, but I'll try anyways.  First of all, it was manual, so only he could drive it.  Also, it was a coupe so it wasn't going to work very well if/ when we ever have kids.  The A/C didn't work.  The windshield was cracked.  Plus, it was just plain nasty after serving a soccer playing college boy all those years.

We weren't really planning on buying a car yesterday.  We just wanted to go test drive the new Ford Focus hatchback after seeing a few on the streets lately.  The first dealership didn't have any of the hatchbacks to test (apparently they are pretty hard to come by), so we test drove the sedan.  We liked it.  Then, the manager made us an offer that was pretty hard to refuse.  We didn't buy it on the spot, but went and test drove a few more cars (a Honda Civic sedan and the Honda Fit.)  In the end, the fuel efficiency (27 City/ 37 Hwy), the advanced technology (Sync with Bluetooth), the pretty color (shiny red), and the value (nearly $4,000 off the sticker price) of the Focus sedan won us over.

So, here's what I'm sure you're waiting for... the pics:

All I can say is, I can't believe we now own a domestic made car. My dad will be proud.
